Basics teach you how to punch, block and kick effectively. Things like; knowing to keep your
wrist straight when you punch (so as not to strain or break your wrist), proper chamber when kicking (so as not to have your kick caught by your assailant), how to kick and punch with power and focus (so that when you do connect it will cause damage), and how to block effectively (so that the assailant's technique does not go right through your block); just to name a few. As we know there are many more reasons. Listed in the first section is the 25 basic techniques that we concentrate on when we train.Just as with working empty hand basics we also work on basics with our Kobudo (Weapons). The section below lists the basic techniques of just a few of the weapons that we utilize in our system.
