ANNUAL HANSHI VIST 2002

Hanshi Is Coming To Maine!

Hanshi Kise, 10th Dan, the

highest rank in Shorin Ryu Ma-tsumura Seito Karate-Do and Kobudo, will be coming to Bar Harbor, Maine. Hanshi has not visited Maine since 1997. It is a great honor to have the Master of our system come to Eastern/Downeast Maine to train us.

There will be a 2 day workout for youth and adults on 9/7 & 9/8 and Black Belt workout on 9/8. The workouts will take place at the MDI YMCA. Those who plan to attend will need to pre-register and there will be a fee to cover the costs of hosting Hanshi’s visit to Maine. Some students from the Bar Harbor & Cherryfield Dojos have planned fund raisers which will help lower the fees. Any students interested in having a fund raiser, see your instructor.

This will be an exciting visit. Sensei Hamel and Sensei Renshaw, students of Sensei Wilbur will be testing for Yondan (4th dan). It is very difficult and it takes a long time to attain this high level. Josephine Tulloss, student of Sensei Hamel, will be testing for her Shodan (1st dan). Not everyone makes it to Shodan. It takes a lot of dedication and effort. The testing will take place in Dover on 9/14. Please come and show them all your support.

If this is your first Hanshi workout, relax, don’t be nervous and do the best that you can do. Now it’s time to train hard and polish up on all of your material. Remember, you will be representing your instructor and all of Eastern/Downeast Maine Karate!

Your Sensei will provide you with the Schedule & Registration Forms
